OUR SERVICE PROCESS

Trees contribute to the value, function, and natural beauty of your outdoor space. While they are largely low maintenance in comparison to other elements of green spaces, their care goes beyond watering them. If you want your trees to look their best and remain healthy and safe for the long term, you’ll need to invest in regular maintenance, including tree trimming. Our services are designed to give you easy access to ISA-certified arborists who will help you protect your investment.

OUR SERVICE PROCESS

1) Initial assessment

When you schedule an assessment, we will have our experienced, certified arborists visit your location. They will assess your trees and discuss your goals with you. We will then provide you with a detailed proposal and quote. We’re happy to discuss the details of the proposal with you and make adjustments where needed.

2) Tree trimming

Once the proposal and quote have been approved, our crew will proceed with the trimming. We apply different techniques depending on the goal of the exercise. These include:

  1. Crown reduction – this involves tree clipping to create or maintain a specific shape.

  2. Thinning the crown – this involves tree branch removal to allow for greater light penetration as well as to reduce wind resistance.

  3. Cleaning – this involves removing diseased, weak or dead branches to promote healthy growth and prevent the spread of disease.

  4. Raising the crown – this involves removing lower branches to increase visibility and reduce hazards near buildings, roads and walkways.

FAQs

Is tree trimming necessary?

Having your trees trimmed is about much more than achieving the ideal aesthetic effect for your property. It involves selectively removing foliage and branches from the crown of the tree. This helps to promote growth, prevent the spread of disease, improve safety, and achieve a beautiful shape. Regular trimming will help to maintain the structural integrity of the tree and reduce the risk of falling branches.

How often should trees be trimmed?

The frequency for trimming trees will vary depending on various factors, including the species of the tree, your geographical location, your soil conditions, and the age of the tree. For example, fast-growing tree species may need to be trimmed two to three times a year. Slower-growing species may require trimming annually or even less frequently. Our certified arborists will assess your trees and help you determine the best approach to take with the maintenance of your trees. We can provide you with a maintenance schedule to help you plan.

Can diseases be prevented by trimming?

Yes. In fact, this is one of the many benefits of having your trees trimmed. Clipping dead or diseased branches and foliage will not only reduce the risk of diseases spreading but also improve air circulation and light penetration. This, in turn, helps reduce the risk of growth of fungi. Our arborists take it a step further to inspect trees and identify possible risks. We will provide you with recommendations to help prevent diseases, allowing you to be proactive with the care of your trees.

When is the best time to invest in having my trees trimmed?

This greatly depends on the species. For example, some trees do best when they are trimmed during their dormant season. For many trees, this is in late winter or early spring. Trimming is done during these periods before the trees experience new growth. Speak to our experienced certified arborists to determine the best approach to take for the care of your trees.
